SAP HANA History
SAP co-founder Hasso Plattner created SAP HANA in the late 2000s as a potential solution to the issue, "How can I have business questions answered the moment they're asked?" The solution took five years to create.
A restricted number of customers got the first version of the SAP HANA database in late 2010. In June 2011, SAP announced the general release version at its annual technology conference, SAPPHIRE NOW, in Orlando, Florida, becoming the first in-memory database ever constructed. SAP HANA is the company's fastest-growing solution, with over 30,000 customers today. It was a very successful product launch.
When SAP launched a cloud platform-as-a-service with SAP HANA integrated in 2012, it rapidly rebranded its Java-based server SAP NetWeaver Cloud as SAP HANA Cloud Platform (it was renamed again in 2017 to SAP Cloud Platform and again in 2021 to SAP Business Technology Platform). In the spring of 2013, SAP also announced SAP HANA XS, a lightweight app server coupled with SAP HANA that enabled application development.
SAP announced a successor for their ERP ECC in 2015, after manufacturing it since 1992. Multiple aspects of existing ERP operations will be unified under the new SAP S/4HANA system. SAP HANA provides support for the new solution. Capabilities were announced by SAP at the end of 2016. To enable SAP HANA Cloud, which allows organizations to utilize SAP HANA without having to maintain infrastructure or hardware, was announced in March 2020.
SAP HANA Price:
The cost of an SAP HANA license depends on the number of gigabytes utilized. When providing an estimate for SAP HANA, SAP considers other factors, such as the current market pricing of competing databases. However, the real cost is determined by the unique requirements of each organization. When selecting whether to install SAP HANA, consider performance needs, scalability, flexibility and whether total instance control is necessary or merely in-memory processing would suffice.
SAP HANA Installation Types 1 Cloud
There are two types of cloud installations available: public and private. People moving their licenses to the public cloud would follow the same processes as an on-premise installation. The SAP HANA cloud instance would be hosted by a provider such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Contrarily.
A private cloud installation allows customers to lease an SAP HANA database on their cloud. This may be a physical server housed by the company renting SAP HANA or a limited server hosted by a third party.
On-Premises
Customers may request a key from the SAP Support website to receive a basic signature file in an on-premises system.
In a two-tiered setup, businesses employ an on-premise and cloud version of SAP HANA. This might be beneficial for several reasons, such as wanting to look into the prospect of a future full-cloud deployment while still running an on-premises deployment.

The major advantages of SAP HANA:
Significant decrease in data volume.
Algorithms can be corrected much more quickly than actual data. This is aided by a reduction in data volume. Data is produced at runtime rather than in advance using aggregate tables.
Data model and software simplification.
There have been very few programming attempts to manage performance.
Significant decrease in backup and restoration operations.
